NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Carnival Cruise Line sharing potential business opportunities with the Grand Bahama community this afternoon at the Grand Lucayan Resort in Freeport. The project set to welcome guests in July of 2025 is expected to boost economic activity on that northern island.
Celebration Key will welcome more than two million guest each year and it’s welcomed news for Grand Bahama residents from Carnival Cruise Line as the island has been in a economic slump for years.
Representatives of Carnival Cruise Line and Carnival Corporation along with the Minster for Grand Bahama, Ginger Moxey and the Grand Bahama Port Authority hosting an information session with the media and business community on Thursday to provide more details on the project and its progress.
The cruise-port is expected to be completed by July 2025.
Carnival ships will dock at an adjacent cruise pier that can accommodate up to two carnival excel-class vessels simultaneously which will allow guests direct access to Celebration Key.
The five-hundred million dollar project is expected to provide lots of opportunities for local businesses. It is said that there will be a wide range of employment opportunities as well
