Carnival Cruise Line held a town hall meeting at the Margaritaville Resort in New Providence on Monday to inform of the jobs and opportunities available at their cruise port project on the island of Grand Bahama.
Vice President of Destination Operations, Juan Fernandez spoke to ZNS News on the sidelines of the event. He said, “we’re extremely excited about this project and we think it’ll be game changing for Carnival and it’ll be game changing for Grand Bahama as well. We’re looking forward to opening in July 2025. And the way that we’ve designed this entire project is to generate opportunities for Bahamians whether that’s employment opportunities…whether is retail opportunities, food and beverage opportunities, sub contracting construction. What we know is that this site will be amazing, that we’re looking forward to welcoming more than 2.2 million guests and that Bahamians are going to be a integral part of this destination.”
According to Fernandez they are excited about the engagement they have gotten so far from Bahamians and said those interesting in becoming a part of the project should visit their website at http://www.celebrationkeygrandbahama.com.
